To Be Happy Class
Artists' Market offers a wide range of classes, workshops, and groups for personal enrichment. To maintain an intimate setting and be sure Instructors are really accessible, most classes are limited in size to 6 - 10 participants. You can register for them online, or you can print and send in the mail-in registration form. We're now accepting reservations for the events below.

JOAN STANDORA and the Artists’ Market Community Center are facilitating a monthly group for those interested in sketching or painting the human form. This is an opportunity for experienced artists to fine tune their artistic skills, and for beginners to learn from a truly exceptional local artist.
Each class begins with gesture drawings, where students have the opportunity to capture movements of our professional model. Next we do quick poses, then settle in for the longer figure studies.
Art supplies are provided; experienced artists are welcome to bring their own. Light refreshments are also provided courtesy of the AMCC.
Sessions are scheduled for the first Sunday of every month, from 2 - 4 PM. 2017 sessions are February 5, March 5, April 2, May 7, June 4, July 2, August 6, September 3, October 1, November 5, and December 3.
$25 pre-registered; $30 at the door.

Learn to paint and play with alcohol inks!
Artist Jane Brennan will help you experience the thrill of bloom and the blend of alcohol ink, as these vibrant colors act and react. You’ll learn techniques like free flow, pouring, and painting on ceramic tiles, as well as other surfaces.
All materials for this class will be supplied and you will go home with finished tiles.
Tuition: $45 (includes three hour class and all materials)

This three hour session provides students with basic drawing instruction from Master Artist John Tomlinson (click here for his bio). With John’s guidance and an arranged still life, you’ll learn to develop your observational skills, drawing techniques, technical abilities, and creative responses.

It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction, and is said to increases a sense of personal well-being.
Join Zentangles Master Linda Cobb for a two hour exploration of this art form—no experience necessary.

"Fashion Intervention with Daria Dorosh" is a hands-on design workshop for people of all ages, genders, and experience who love fashion and believe in sustainable clothing design. (Click here for her bio.) She will teach you how to refashion old clothes into new ones! No previous skills required.
Participants are required to bring from five to ten items that are stained, damaged, or no longer wearable. Favorite ribbons, buttons, beads, trims, and textile scraps are also useful. We’ll have a supply of scissors, needles, thread, and pins on hand, but feel free to bring your own as well.
Make room in your closet, express your creativity, create a new wardrobe, and save space in landfills—all at the same time!

Watercolors are quick, clean, and portable! Study the basics of watercolor, and see why some say it’s the most exciting and expressive medium of them all.
You’ll learn how to prep the paper and practice the different brushstrokes. Then our Instructor will guide you through the creation of your own monochrome picture, as well as a polychrome picture.
You’ll also discover how to plan and compose a landscape, and add simple details, all in this three-hour lesson. The cost of the class includes all the materials you’ll need, plus a nice mat and frame to take your creation home in.

Bring your favorite picture of your favorite pet and learn how to render it’s likeness in a beautiful pastel portrait. Our Instructor is nationally known for her pet portraits, and was the subject of pieces in both Animal Fair and Hudson Valley magazines.
With Ann Marie’s gentle guidance, you’ll discover that your pastel pet portrait can capture not only the facial structure and fur of your pet, but also the unconditional love your pet displays.
Includes all necesary supplies, plus a mat and frame for your creation.
