Artist Profile: John Tomlinson
John Tomlinson’s professional studio practice spans more than 40 years. A Cooper Union graduate, he was a Professor of Drawing at Parsons School of Design Fine Arts for 25 years, and also spent 21 years as director of the New York Studio Residency Program.
"The face is always where I start my drawing," he explains. "The face has infinite nuances of expression, and the drawn version has its own reason to exist". You can see him at work here on Vimeo or visit his web site.
John also teaches the "Drawing Fundamentals with John Tomlinson" class being offered at the Artists’ Market Community Center in June.
