Artist's Profile: Joan Standora
Joan studied under the guidance of painter Jerry Weiss at the Arts Students League of NYC, as well as Detroit Institute of Art. With a PhD in Psychology, Dr. Standora’s work explores the relationship between creative self-expression and emotion.
"I’ve now returned to my first love," she says. "My personal and professional experiences have melded into a variety of representational subjects imbued with the drama of everyday life."
Joan is a member of the River Valley Artists’ Guild, and teaches the "Drawing the Human Form with Joan Standora" at the Artists’ Market Community Center.
