Artist's Profile: Bill Bakalis
Tie fly artist Bill Bakalis has had a passion for fishing and tying flies since childhood.
"I remember from grade school that the world is about three-quarters water and one quarter land," notes Bill. "I take that to mean that God wants us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as we do mowing our lawns!"
As Bill’s mastery of tying flies developed, more and more of his creations were simply too beautiful to cast into a stream. So, he began framing them, positioning them in dioramas, and putting them atop handmade sculptures.
His tie fly art is displayed on many mantles and walls throughout the Delaware River Valley.
